Independent gaming, Collingwood-made
Games worth your weekend, reviewed by people who finish them
No hype cycles, no review-bombing, no sponsored scores. Just honest write-ups on RPGs, indies and the odd 200-hour obsession — filed from a share-house on Smith Street.
About the log
A gaming blog that keeps its sea-legs
FrostGameExpedition started in 2019 as a group chat arguing about JRPG endings and turned into one of Australia's most-read independent gaming sites. We publish four long-form pieces a week — reviews, retrospectives and patch breakdowns — with zero paid placements.
Every score is earned over real playtime: we don't grade a 60-hour RPG off a two-hour preview build. If we couldn't finish it, we tell you why. That stubbornness is the whole point.
How a review gets made
From launch day to published verdict
-
1
Full playthrough first
We start the clock at launch and log every hour. Main story, side content, endgame — nothing gets scored until the credits roll.
-
2
Performance testing
Frame-rates, load times and crashes get captured on console and PC so the write-up reflects how it actually runs on release-day hardware.
-
3
Second-opinion pass
A second crew member plays the disputed bits. If our takes clash, that tension goes into the piece instead of getting smoothed over.
-
4
Publish & revisit
The verdict goes live, then we update it after major patches. A launch-week mess that fixes itself deserves a fair second look.
The crew
Who's holding the controller

Marlowe Finch
Editor & RPG lead
Founder, tactics obsessive, and the reason our JRPG reviews run 3,000 words. Once logged 340 hours in a single Persona playthrough.

Sana Delacroix
Indie & features
Hunts down the weird itch.io gems nobody else covers. Runs our Friday indie spotlight and interviews solo devs across the Asia-Pacific.

Theo Nakamura
Tech & performance
Our benchmark nerd. Captures every frame-time graph and load-time test so a "runs great" claim actually has numbers behind it.
